In this video I'll doing a review or Overview of geod directory this is a Directory plug-in for WordPress that's Very comprehensive affordable and it's Got a lot of extensions add-ons and a Couple of themes and it can really do uh Very well for you if you got good Niche Idea this is actually my third effort Recording this video did one 10-minute Video the audio is gone another video And in video broadcast messed up the Videos this my third attempt hopefully Third Time Lucky so basically um I'm using this to I've had this for two years I'm not Really played with it too Much but what my plan is for this is to Use it to sell my SEO services to the Niche directory businesses that I have In there so for example if I had a niche For gardeners in London I could offer Them SEO services for their Google Listings for their website And so on it's not really about making a Lot of money from the directory CU That's quite hard to Do um another thing I was thinking was If I have a good size directory I can Offer advertising CU there are some Advertising add-ons which are included In the membership that I can charge People to enhance their listing put it On top of the list and so On that's not going to be the main Money
Maker this is more [Music] To um offer my SEO service To people on my directory to companies On my Directory let's go through it so you can Use any any theme I'm going to use a Normal theme and the normal block build I'm not going to use Elemental D B build Or any of these just Gutenberg Plug and Play drag and drop Plenty of extensions I'll go through Those um you can drag and drop the Layout and show fuels you Want and that's that's what the users Can Input okay it's it's developer friendly You can um use web hooks Filters and what got me interested Recently was the API so I use a make and Zi so I can Actually scrape data use the API to Import it straight into my uh Directories so it tells you all the Information all the endpoints and URLs And so On let's get into the add-on so if you Get the full membership what Sur pricing You got the full Membership one website is $139 a year Dollars and you only add on all the Themes all the new products and so on Updates and you get a 30-day man back Guarantee or if you want what I've got
Which is unlimited you can use on Unlimited sites so my idea was to have Multiple um small local Niche very Niched down Directories um and then from there I can Offer my service is and I'll have an Idea of what people are looking For and then with that idea because People know that anyone looking at this Directory looking for a particular Service or item or Something for example Garden in London So I can say look if you want to Advertise at the top in this area then Pay me x amount a month I'll put your Banner there I'll put your listing at The top anyway that's about monetizing But let me go through the plugin so Location Manager you can extend your your city Directory to a global directory you can Add country region City neighborhood and So on which is probably what I will do With some of The um smaller niches but they're like Nationwide I'm going to conc on the UK That's what I Know advanced search custom post types Pricing manager so this how you can Monetize your Directory so for for this uh for this Module you can add recurring payments Free trials pricing Packages you can offer enhanced listings
Payment reminders and so on pay to claim Which I probably won't Do and you can use woocommerce or I Think it's best to use their get paid Plug plugin cuz it's uh compatible the Plugin is free for the basic featur Which is Fine and Um I'm sure I think there's a manual Payment in there as well so if you want To use different service I think there's A manual option but woocommerce is a bit Heavy for a standard shared server so I'm not going to S wo Commerce have your own pricing uh table Um yeah I can't see too much There and yeah that's that let's go Back okay claim listings so this is a Feature I will add so it allows Businesses to claim their Listings um you can show verifi listing Bad and so on if you want to pay to Claim also an option but I'm going to do Pay to claim marker classes so if people Looking at the map so you different Marker options events I won't use uh Multi- ratings and reviews which I will Use WP all import so to easily import Data from a spreadsheet recapture social Importer very useful import company data From Facebook yort Trip Advisor custom Map Styles ad branding to Maps franchise Managers so if one company got multiple Locations you can you install this the
Price on the left here if you buy one Off what was the one plugin one add-on But if you get the membership you get Everything Here list manager I won't use that's if Your the user wants to make a list for Example things to do in London and but Yeah that's not really the idea of this Directory um embeddable ratings bad That's very important because if they've Got good reviews they can link L it onto Their website that's a back link for you And makes your directory more Powerful advertising yes definitely Either to allow people to promote their Listings or for me to offer my SEO Services and have that plaster all over The Site so that's another plus compare Listings probably not Marketplace Probably not Dynamic user emails looks Interesting um save search notification Maybe and so on let's quickly look at The Themes so this is the theme that I'm Using now directory theme I was using before but that's being that's a Legi theme now this is the current Theme this uses blog strap theme and This is a child theme on top of it but It's very responsive very fast it looks Really Good okay so I think that's pretty much It the API yeah I think I mentioned it
